In a just published Form 13, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Guidewire Software Inc. (NYSE:GWRE) reported that Brown Capital Management Llc has picked up 3,758,245 of common stock as of 2016-12-09.

The acquisition brings the aggregate amount owned by Brown Capital Management Llc to a total of 3,758,245 representing a 5.11% stake in the company.

For those not familiar with the company, Guidewire Software, Inc. is a provider of software products for property and casualty (P&C) insurers. The Company’s software serves as a technology platform for P&C insurance carriers. The Company’s InsurancePlatform consists of three elements: core transaction processing, data management and analytics, and digital engagement. The Company sells its products to a range of global P&C insurance carriers ranging from global insurers to national carriers to regional carriers.

A glance at Guidewire Software Inc. (NYSE:GWRE)’s key stats reveals a current market capitalization of $4.11 billion based on 73.51 million shares outstanding and a price at last close of $53.89 per share.

Looking at insider activity, there are a few transactions worth noting.

Specifically, on 2016-06-05, Cavoores picked up 5,000 at a purchase price of $37.12.  This brings their total holding to 12,122 as of the date of the filing.

On the sell side, the most recent transaction saw Ryu unload 5,000 shares at a sale price of $55.34. This brings their total holding to 0.
